WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT THE SERENGETI?

The best time to visit the Serengeti in Tanzania Safari 2025 depends on what you hope to experience during your trip:

  1. Wildebeest Migration (July to August): If you want to witness one of the most impressive natural spectacles in the world, when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River, then this is the best time. The Serengeti plains are full of life during migration.
  2. Wildlife Spotting (June to October): During the dry season, vegetation is sparser and animals congregate near water sources, making it easier to spot wildlife including lions, leopards, elephants and more.
  3. Breeding season (January to February): This is the time when wildebeest give birth to their young on the southern Serengeti plains. It is a period of abundance of life and activity in nature.
  4. Rainy season (November to May): During this period, the landscape becomes green and lush, and is ideal for watching migratory birds and enjoying more vibrant landscapes. However, some roads may become difficult to navigate due to mud.

In short, the best time to visit the Serengeti depends on your specific interests in wildlife, landscapes and natural experiences.
